This Log Data may include information such as your device’s Internet (“IP”) address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Site that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics. Cookies

Cookies are files with small amounts of data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a web site and stored on your computer’s hard drive.

Like many sites, we use cookies to collect information to enable us to more efficiently interact with you, and to operate and improve the Site and our Services. For example, cookies help us with things like remembering your user name for your next visit, understanding how you are using our Services, and improving our Site and Services based on that information (essential purposes). We also use cookies for non-essential purposes like analytics and marketing that some of our events may use to contact you about events that they may offer. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Site. You can turn off non-essential cookies by using the opt-out button provided beneath the privacy policy on this page.

The Way We Use Information

We use the information you provide about yourself and others when registering for a race only to complete the registration for that Race. We do not share this information with outside parties.

We use the information you provide about yourself and others when applying for a grant only to evaluate eligibility for that grant. We only share this information with members our grant committee making decisions for grants (if applicable).

We use non-identifying and aggregate information to better design our website and to share with advertisers. For example, we may tell an advertiser that X number of individuals visited a certain area on our website, or that Y number of men and Z number of women filled out our registration form, but we would not disclose anything that could be used to identify those individuals.

Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.

Our Commitment To Data Security

To help prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. However, despite our diligent efforts, no commercial method of information transfer over the Internet or electronic data storage is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee such absolute security.

Links to Third Party Sites

In an attempt to provide you with increased value, we may include third party links on our Site. These linked sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We do not control and, therefore, have no responsibility or liability for the content and practices of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we welcome any feedback about these linked sites (including if a specific link does not work).

Our Commitment To Children’s Privacy

Our Site and Services are a general audience website and are not specifically directed for use by children under the age of 13. However we recognize that children may be eligible to participate in events listed on our site and protecting the privacy of the very young is important. For that reason, we do not knowingly allow anyone under the age of 18 to register for an event or create a profile on our Site. Only parents or guardians may register for a race or create a profile for children under the age of 18. As part of the registration process we ask the individual registering a participant for an event to confirm they are the parent or guardian of any registrants under the age of 18 and that they have consented to the collection of information for registrants under the age of 13.

We will not intentionally communicate directly with children under the age of 13. When there is a need to communicate with children under the age of 13 for the acceptable purposes under this policy (for instance to confirm a race registration) we will use the email address of the parent, guardian or adult who has created the profile or registered the child for a race. Additionally whenever a child’s name appears in a public place on our site (for instance with their race results) the name will be truncated to first initial and last name and will not be shown with other identifying information like their street address.
